Founder & Executive Director: Delores Powell
A published children's book author of the Cool Kid with a Secret. She has also served a key role in the medical field for 14 years, helping adults and children in the most critical time of their life. She has always instilled in each of her patients a never give up Spirit, even when they would face the challenge of never being able to walk again, she would somehow find a way to make them appreciate the new life that has been presented to them. At the same time, Delores has also volunteered with Marietta City schools for over the past 13 years watching and guiding her children through school. She has three graduates from Marietta High and one well on his way. Every child that Delores comes in contact with, she tries to spend at least five minutes of her time finding out what they're doing, who they are and if they are on the right track, at the same time giving them words of encouragement, empowerment and guidance. She has earned the name neighborhood Mom within her community. Her husband Shannon, share the same love for children and family values. Their goal is to reach as many children as possible, give them the directions, guidance, love, care, confidence, and leadership as well as being an advocate or a friend to just listen to. We at Cool Kids' Committee are taking on the challenge one community at a time. |
